Veganism in TV Article

The subject of this article is how little representation there is of vegans and vegetarians in cooking programmes as the Great British Bake Off recently revealed it would have it's own vegan week, highlighting the lack of TV shows catering to vegans and vegetarians alike. The audience the article is directed to is anyone interested in food as it demonstrates how popular the lifestyle has become as the Great British Bake Off 'honors the rise of veganism'. I think the purpose of the article is to show the influence cooking programmes can have on what we eat. As we become more aware of what our food choice's effects are on the environment we may want more recipes that don't have as catastrophic, long-lasting pressures on our planet. I like the article because it portrays how the media can influence us and how it can help us to change our ways, making the world a better place little by little.
